Our Annual Club Picnic/Cook-Out     Thank you Don Morris
We want to thank Don Morris for arranging the Annual Picnic at Lake Allatoona in early August. We had group of about 20 people and that was pretty darn good considering that it was 100 degrees that afternoon. We had shade and a breeze and plenty of cool food, ice tea, watermelon, and ice cream. Everyone had a nice chatty time but we didn’t move about a whole lot. Some of the guest suggested that we consider moving the picnic to a little cooler month.
There were lots of Beautiful Old Cars in the parking lot.
Report On April 12, 2010 Auction and Spaghetti Dinner    From April 2010 Running Board
The annual fundraiser was a big success. The dinner netted $142.74, the auction earned $812.00 and donations totaled $140.00, for a total of $1094.74. This is a valuable and much needed contribution to the annual budget. We had lots of fun too. This event is one of the better social gatherings offered by the club.
A special thanks to Jerry and Cheryl Reichel for hosting the event, and to Bob and Mary Ann Padovano and Jim Duggan for dinner. It was well planed and well executed. Also, thanks to auctioneers Jerry Reichel, Bob Padovano and Lamar Hart. The most generous volunteer was Treasurer Bert Steele who gave up his whole day to keep tabs on each transaction. We especially appreciate those who contributed auction items, and those baked pies for auction. It was great fun.

Auction and Spaghetti Dinner
Saturday March 12th starting at 12 Noon
Jerry Reichel’s Car Barn
Bring money and your wife
This is our major fund raising activity to help finance our local club. We are asking that you contribute items to be auctioned to the highest bidder. All proceeds will go to our own Georgia Regional Group #24.
We will kick off the festivities about noon with a spaghetti dinner served up by Chef Padovano and his staff. Dinner will include Spaghetti and meatballs, salad, bread, drink and desert, Cost for the dinner is $7.50 per person.

Please RSVP to Mary Ann Padovano 770 978 7555. They really need to know how much food to purchase.
The auction will start right after dinner.

We need a wide variety of good useful items for both men and ladies, including Ford parts, tools, antiques, collectables, decorating things, home made cookies, fudge, cakes, and anything that could be useful. Be creative but no junk, please. Bring as much or as little as you can. If you can’t attend, try to send stuff with a friend.
Please be generous with your contributions and support. Mark your calendar and start collecting items to contribute to the auction. It will be lots of fun and it is for a very good cause.

The Pie Social, Optional Participation.
Jerry has suggested more levity for the fun(d) raising activity. Here is how it works. Prepare your favorite baked dessert and bring to the March 12
th spaghetti dinner / auction. These desserts will be auctioned off after dinner. The winning bidder may share the dessert with others if they wish.
Please bring all desserts to hostess Cheryl Reichel, who will give you and your dessert a number separate from your auction bidding number. The bidders will not know who the baker is until after the bidding is finished. Baking and bidding is open to both ladies and men, but limited to one dessert per bidder. All the proceeds from the Pie Social will also be contributed to the club.

Big Turnout For 2012 Annual Picnic  (from Sep 2012 Running Board)
The Annual Picnic at Lucky Shoals Park was a big success and fun for almost everyone. Jerry Reichel brought the commercial grill and did all the cooking of hamburgers and hotdogs. Again we had a big spread of salads, side dishes, and deserts. Good food outdoors just seems to taste better. Forty three members and guest turned out for the event. We thank everyone for attending and contributing such delicious food. Unfortunately, Ken Wells took a spill and skinned his arm, but he’s up and around and attended the September meeting.

Regional 24 Early V8 Club Meeting/Club Picnic   September 14, 2013
Location: Lucky Shoals Park @ Britt Road Norcross, GA  Time: 12:25
The club meeting was held in conjunction with the club’s annual picnic.
People began to arrive around 11:30.

Dan Rolader and Faron Stephens were at the park at 10:30 setting up the food. Dan prepared a family recipe Brunswick stew which he had ‘cooking’ in a cast iron pot. He kept it stirring with a boat paddle! That had everyone’s attention as they approached the pavilion.

Faron had his recipe chicken wings and thighs for those watching their diet. Dan had picked up BBQ pulled & chopped pork from a place in Chamblee. Also included were some tasty turnip greens, coldslaw, and baked beans.

Everyone’s conversations were stopped when their attention was caught by a garbage can being banged on so we could start our club meeting.  Larry Tanner was performing the president’s duties because Jerry McIntosch was out of town.  Jimmy Dorsey was asked & performed the blessing of the food.

The picnic was a huge success. The location was the same as last year-Lucky Shoals Park on Britt Road in Gwinnett County. The weatherman cooperated this year with mild temperatures and no rain!

Forty-four club members and their wives, along with their guests and family members, were present. It didn’t take long for people to go through the tables loaded with chicken, BBQ, Brunswick stew, chips, pickles, and coldslaw. Drinks included Coke, diet Coke, Sprite, sweet and unsweetened ice tea, and bottled water was also available.

Each member was asked to bring a dessert and that certainly killed anyone’s hopes of staying on a diet!

The Big Cookout was a big success with the attendance of 41 members and families. Thanks to all who helped and made the annual event a success! Faron Stephens and Greg Barner brought the hamburgers and hotdogs off the grill with the precision of a German Railway. Bert Steele picked up the meat and buns. Mary Ann Padovano  helped with arrangements but missed the cookout due to illness.   We missed you, Mary Ann. Attendees brought a delicious selection of side dishes, salads and desserts.   And, there was an impressive display of Old Fords, antique cars & pickups.
