Don Garlits Early Ford & Antique Car Collection - on the grounds of the DON GARLITS Museum of Drag Racing
Don's knowledge of the flathead Ford V-8's and his focus on prewar Fords, led to a relationship with the Early Ford Foundation. Don struck an arrangement to display some of the Ford Foundation's collection, in with his personal cars, contributing to a display of about 70 pristine vehicles. This combination of early Ford cars could easily rank among the finest in existence.

ELLIOTT MUSEUM A collection of 25 vintage cars, some once owned by businessman Sterling Elliott, who invented a quadracycle that was the basis for the Stanley Steamer. HENDRICK MOTORSPORTS MUSEUM At this complex near Lowe’s Motor Speedway, racecars and memorabilia related to Rick Hendrick motorsports teams, including the Winston Cup winners Jeff Gordon and Terry Labonte as well as Jack Sprague, the Nascar Craftsman Truck Series champion.  4400 Papa Joe Hendrick Boulevard, Charlotte, N.C. 28262. BMW ZENTRUM A museum about the past, present and future of BMW at its only American plant.  Exhibits include displays of BMW’s work with hydrogen-powered cars as part of its CleanEnergy program and a tribute to the company’s motorcycle heritage and a selection of successful BMW racecars.  Plant tours are currently suspended.  Open Monday through Friday 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.  Free.  Exit 60, Interstate 85, Spartanburg, S.C. 29304. THE DARLINGTON RACEWAY STOCK CAR MUSEUM / N.M.P.A. HALL OF FAME.  On the grounds of the Darlington Raceway, old stock cars, trophies and racing engines and the National Motorsports Press Association’s Hall of Fame. Cairo Antique Auto Museum   The Cairo Antique Auto Museum also features antique cars from every decade of the 1900s, along with Matchbox cars, antique bicycles and other collectibles.  The city hosts the Great Southern Antique Car Rally every May, an event which features 100 of the world's most expensive antique cars.   1125 Hwy 84 East,. The Cofer Collection: A Stable of Thoroughbreds, is and has been a work in progress since the early 1950's.  Gene Cofer started his family automobile collection in the early 50's when his wife Neta was pregnant with the first of their five children.  Since 1951 the Cofer car collection and the Cofer family has grown.  With five children and twelve grandchildren,  Gene Cofer left quite a legacy and quite a lot to live up to.  3702 Lawrenceville Hwy, Tucker, GA  770-938-6439  thecofercollection  MAP

Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum   Dedicated to the presentation, interpretation, exhibition and history of motorcycles, vintage vehicles and motorsports.  Home to the world’s best motorcycle collection, the museum now has over 1200 vintage and modern motorcycles and racecars and the largest collection of Lotus cars as well as other significant makes.  The collection is the largest of its kind in the world.  There are approximately 600 of the 1200 motorcycles on display at any given time.  These bikes range from 1902 to current-year production.  The common street bikes represented, as well as rare one-off Gran Prix race machinery.  Located at the 740 acre Barber Motorsports Park (that includes a world class 2.38 mile racetrack).   East of downtown Birmingham off I-20 @ Exit 140 Leeds, Alabama.. International Motorsports Hall of Fame Museum  One of the International Motorsports Hall of Fame's highlight features is the Motorsports Museum. Spanning three buildings and the enclosed courtyard, this collection of history making vehicles is priceless. They represent the crowning achievements of man's abilities and the pursuit of the our limits. To those men, this is a tribute. To all others this is a gift, for the images you see before you are history.   The International Motorsports Hall of Fame & Museum is located between Birmingham and Atlanta, just north of Talladega, Alabama.  The Hall of Fame & Museum is located on Speedway Boulevard just off I-20 and lies adjacent to the Talladega Superspeedway, "the World's Fastest Superspeedway." Take exit 168 eastbound on I-20, or exit 173 westbound and follow the signs.  Lodging and dining facilities are available at I-20 exits in Lincoln, Pell City, Oxford/Anniston and eight miles south on Highway 77 in Talladega.  The Hall of Fame & Museum is open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., except for Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and Easter morning. The Hall of Fame is open extended hours during race weeks at Talladega Superspeedway.
